Alfonso Zepeda-Capistrán holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of California Berkeley and the University of Wisconsin Madison, respectively. Alfonso has worked in the field of education as an instructor of Spanish and as an administrator for over 20 years. Since 1988 he has also worked as an independent consultant providing language and cultural consulting, interpreting and translation services as president and principal consultant of Lingua Consulting, LLC. Alfonso is a regular speaker/presenter on Latinos issues, race, education and politics. He writes a political column in Spanish for the Capital City Hues in Madison, Wisconsin. Alfonso has also been widely recognized for his commitment to community building and is the recipient of the Dane County Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. Recognition Award, the Wisconsin Migrant Coalition Outstanding Leadership Award, and the Social Justice Center and Capital Times Visionary Award. Mayo Zepeda-Paula is the national customer service Spanish voice for Verizon Wireless and has been working with Cammie Winston for nearly 10 years as a voiceover artist (both Spanish and English) and as a Spanish translator. Mayo has a working background in telecommunications management in the private sectorand has been the recipient of many customer service recognition awards. Additionally,Mayo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Education from California State University, Sacramento. She is a native Spanish-speaker.
